Basketball Update
So, I know this isn't really about the drums, but I just wanted to give a quick b-ball update for the Santa Clara fans.
Friday: Girls played against Saint Mary and won. The boys had a bye, so they did not play.
Saturday: The girls played LMU in the morning and lost. They are now out of the tournament. The boys played USD and did very well!
Sunday: Today at 6pm we play Gonzaga. This is going to be a crazy game!!!!!
Pep Band vs. Pep Band
One of the coolest parts about playing here in vegas so far has been the competition between other pep bands. When we played against LMU, their pep band was taunting us and trying to make us pretty mad! Of course, it was all in good fun. We showed them up pretty well though when after they played "The Hey Song," we came back and played our version. We even turned around and faced the other band! Unexpectedly, however, they started playing along with us! It was a fun little nerdy pep band moment for us and for LMU!
Traveling with Drums
I love playing the drums. BUT, I hate traveling with them. After a few days of moving my drums from place to place, my arms are very sore. I guess that is why it pays to get famous. You can pay people to move them for you! Still, there is something nice about having total control over how my drums are set up and how they get from place to place. Now I just need some Icy Hot for my arms!

Hello from Vegas!!! I am currently in my hotel room, getting ready for the BIG game against Gonzaga tonight. Last night was an interesting game. We started out playing the song "Ruff Riders" which is the song I usually have a drum solo in. However, right as the solo started, one of my sticks began to crack and soon exploded into a million shards of wood! After that, I tried fumbling to grab another stick, and the solo fell apart! I guess that happens sometimes; playing music doesn't go as planned everytime!
